Why me ?

I guess, still that bad luck has been trailing my way from the previous post when my classes were postponed and wolla !! Again, today I came happily from home to attend my class and had to retrace my path which I took from south ex II to the subway and to south ex I and back to my apartment.

Finally after some laid back and a respite full week, I was back with my jogging which infact felt really nice. (though lost a bit of extra meters i had gained from continuous 2 weeks of jogging). Had a nice time at home sleeping and eating most of the time which an ideal holiday one cud dream off.. Something really nice to eat on your table, with nice weather outside and your eyes fixed on the tv screen and your hands controlling the players in pro evolution soccer. Man, thats some game. Am playing it from the past 3 yrs i guess and havnt really once got bored from the game You can just go on and on and keep making diff moves to score n its actually very nice to control the new starlets in the Liverpool squad. Specially Torres and Babel have got good pace and good technique. Though actually i didnt play pro evo this weekend, but still managed to hav a great time at home with some good cuisines my mum made for me.

And finally, I went to see Die Hard 4.0 today with my pal. It was some freaking ass kickin, guns and loads of guns and jam packed typical action movie but it was worth 160 rs ( I hate PVR's for that) It was a kind of movie which actually needed to break this saga of some fantasy world movies with costumesor pirate crap. Just plain action ! I saw Transformers posters everywhere in the hall but the date was no where to be seen. God knows when they'll release it here. I couldnt wait for it, so hav already started downloading from our very own Mr. axxo ( if u use torrents, u'll no who he is ;) )

Have managed to hear quite a bit of Deathly hallows, its picking up but still hav to use great spells on myself to listen to it for the time being.

Throw Down All the CS's, Pro Evo's, FIFA's n War Crafts.. ! They r Coming in with a Touch of Bollywood !!

It hasn't been a very fun filled week due to viral , which means no jogging and no gymin and no ehh, nothing more was there infact in my heavily scheduled day apart from studying Java. I'm actually falling in Love with the language. But things really tend to get shaky if I loose some ground on any topic, but am still fighting on.

While reading tech News on net something really caught my eye. The heading was Bringing Bollywood to Video Games . What actually crossed my brains was , Oh my God, will we see Himesh Reshamiya or may be Rajni Kaant in a game ? Who would like to play a game in which u actually play those characters and imagine yourself running here there with a Shot Gun, and a Cap and may be even a mic too which might be a special power of our hero.

Or for instance, if a game would be made for a movie like Hum Saath Saath Hein , something really terrible might happen. You'll get to choose the role from the 3 brothers (as if selecting from Aragon , Legolas and Gimli in Lord of the Rings) and set out in a journey where you actually might end playing an Indianised version of Sims. Where instead of lavish life styles, you'll have to be the mumma's boy once again in the game where even if you talk a girl, people might pass rumours and even girls parents might land on ur door step. ;)

Or Imagine, if Bollywood planned of making a star studded movie based on Football, who all will be the players ? For Striker, it shud be Saif and Akshay kumar bcuz of the highest hit ratio on female actors of Bollywood ;) for wingers, it has to be Prabhu Deva with some real jaw dropping steppers and crossovers which would make him the play maker role. And in defense has to be Rajni Kaant with some slick dialogues up his sleeve like :

"1)After six, there's seven, after sivaji there's heaven. "
2) "If sachin hits it's sixer, if Sivaji hits it's stretcher."

And here's the killer:

3) "If you cross Chittod, there's Katpadi, if you cross Sivaji there's dead
body"

These were actual dialogues from his movie Shivaji , not a joke.. !!
So with killer lines like these, no opponent attacker can score. :)
And for goal keeping, I think Adnan Saami will fit in the shoes well though he has reduced but still will do a great job in front of the goal.

Ok enough of joking I guess, The Indo-American start-up is concocting games based on Bollywood movies. In a twist, however, the games won't come out after the movies, or even at the same time. They'll be released about two weeks before and Winners will get invites to the premiere, meet the stars and receive merchandise.

And another bit of news, the first Bollywood3D game will come out in December. It is tied to a futuristic crime film intermingled with a love story. OH BOY..!! Why the hell we people do not let go of the love shove stories in the games even ? So the ending of the game will most probably be having shaadi ke ferres instead of a death defying stunt :0)

Is India Ahead or Wat ??

Wasnt too long since I moved into my apartment with my IIT'ian friend ( Ya IIT'ian ;) and things finally settling down with its n bits. Its been 5 days and was desperately waiting for the airtel people to set up the net so that I cud get my paws on mac to check the Football transfer activity and was poised to update my blog the the very same day ;)

Since the day I stepped in , thats friday, have been buying all sorts of things which I havnt even seen in my house, from scotch bright to ginger garlic paste and wat not. But its actually fun to live all by urself and do things which were just left for people who we dont even care to actually register ourselves with who is doing what at our homes !

And to come to the best part, we all friends met up on Saturday in CP, and wat was extremely surprising was I found the Harry Potter's last addition, Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows just lying on every street sellers which was surprisingly very amusing in context to the people who line up in queues outside shops in freezing cold to get a grab a copy. Atleast somewhere we are pretty ahead of Americans ;) And some but am I compelled to call many lazy asses like me downloading its audio book. :) 1291 seeders and 1449 leechers ..gosh !! Worlds full of ppl like me..

And a word for Kan. I really envy your Blog bro.. It is absolutely stunning and looks too good on White Mac Book. :) Keep it up !

Man or God like ?

Most of us sitting in front of our LCD screens squinting through web pages and clicking every link that comes across which looks or sounds a bit interesting. But do we actually ruminate about things which we really admire ? No is the ans ! Well some people do actually ponder on those things but satiate themselves by some or the other excuses bcuz of the lack of time.

I bumped into this Google Maps where I was trying to locate a route to some place in Delhi. Google has done a slick job of getting every street and every road on there maps. But what is the most jaw dropping thing about Google Maps is that Google people have added another view apart from the existing Maps, Satellite and Hybrid.

This is the Map view of AIIMS in Delhi.

This is the Satellite view of AIIMS.

This is the Hybrid view of AIIMS.

And another view added which is just presently for some parts in US is a street view which is absolutely an eye candy. Not just for the pretty looks, its actually very helpfull. Have a look ! The video shows the street view of Columbia University.

I really have no idea when this street view will come for Indian places and i wonder how will they manage to get a street view of Gautam Nagar in Delhi which has like 500 streets in 1km square area. One heck of a jog aye ;) But am sure some one ( not like us ) will have the courage to prove me wrong in future!

Are Women really the Feeble Sex ?

It was a laid back week as well despite of my classes kicked off real smooth [ Finally ] n oh ya i got in a habit of putting square brackets if u noticed due to influence of String s[] with void function in Java. Java is nice language though having a hard time keeping up the pace cuz programming n me were poles apart till few days before I joined :)
Apart from Java, am trying my hand out in HTML as well. I came across a site which is quite infact helpfull. Click Here! for it.

Ok, I should cut to the chase n break the ice. I am presently staying at my bua's place and me n my cousin Kshitij with whom i had a blast this time. Ate from Maal Pua to Pasta at Pot Pourri n from fudges to Torai ( something like Lauki). So to comensate all this luxury eating, we go for a jog every evening n then gym.

Today he was not around so mustering all my will power n went for a jog alone in AIIMS campus. The place where we live is right in front of a Women's Hostel. So, generally my last round ends up with a sprint and while was putting an end to my road to fitness as I like to describe it , 2 girls were going across the road in the opposite direction, n glady ( ya glady ) few moments ago i plugged out my iPod for sprinting n heard a very unusual comment for the first time from a female n wat she said was.. : Kya baat hai .. n it just stuck me that the comment was meant for me cuz there was nobody around. N i was just stun shocked n didnt no how to react ! And i didnt even have to courage to look back to the gals n just went on n came back home happily with smile. For one thing i should thank those gals bcuz they just made my mind oblivious for my poor legs which were dead tired after a continuous 22 min jog.

Its just 8 days in Delhi and had the one of most memorable moments in my life till now, being teased by gals. Wat will happen in 4 months Food for thought ;)..

Life in Metro

The Heading's a Decoy ( N no its not about the movie either). All one contemplates by the heading is fast life and fast ppl running from here n there for work and I too get the same feeling . But things can certainly go antithetical ways sometime. I'm Arjun and this is my story ( Dont scratch ur brains, these r the lines which PZ says in the starting of the film "Kal Ho Na Ho" )

Ehh, the story starts from where a story ended, yes my collg. Things aint particularly going in a nice way i can say. Few days back, we were supposed to get our provisional degree from collg. It was the day before i was just leaving for Delhi i.e on 28th. Was really looking forward to meet all the collg pals though it had just been over 3 weeks but the elation was many times higher.Got to know my result which was fairly wat I expected but everything overshadowed by the thoughts of becoming an Engineer. It was my turn in the queue to get my provisional when the accountant said that my degree is not yet printed bcuz according to him I had Backlog or re if u call so. N as the words came out of his mouth, the world just started fading away. I was like wat the hell, i failed in my exam !! No I passed thankfully, n to my bad luck, the "B" grade was misread by "E" I guess. Nehow, I came home happily.

But ya coming to the heading, it was the next day i was sitting in Shatabdi at 6 in the morning for delhi with my mom on station a bit senti about me leaving for Delhi. Reached bua's house at 11:15 in humid heat. N finally got my Mac Book which wasnt the most momentous event of that day, the best was yet to come. Sooner than i expected !! ;)
The java course was to start at 5:30, so in relaxed fashion started from Bua's house early cuz had to take a mobile connecion n when i reached the centre, the greatest shock i had was that my course was delayed a week or so. My eyes just wanted to pop out of the sockets n was like wat ? i travelled all 320 Kms to listen to this.. But managed to get heavy pile of books while coming back. So stayed back on the weekend n came back on monday itself. And So much for all the inspiration n zeal i took off from home ;). All came back with just a laptop in my hand back to my parwanoo..

A very nice n impressive thing i noticed on the New Delhi railway station that they have got the whole station wifi which is really very cool that things r getting better though at the slower pace, but ehh i cudnt manage to get my net working there. They have specified the way to configure ur wireless settings n given the gateway IP, but didnt work , dont no. If nebody happens to stumble on a dormant blog like this n managed themselves to this line, do check if u with a laptop how it works n its speed n all n let me no.

Coming back home wasnt particularly a good idea either. BSNL's office in Chandigarh caught fire on last saturday, so all the telephone lines of chd n all the broadband connections hav been precluded. Duh !! Dad got his GPRS working on his phone n bloody hell, coming from 100 kbps downloading to 1 Kbps really sucks. Trust me on this ! Didnt really had the privilege to work on net on my MacBook.

Well coming to Mac Book, it is simply awesome. The looks simply stun u, the processing speed is just amazin. It takes 24 seconds to start the whole thing. Its clock speed is 2.16 Ghz Intel core 2 duo with 1 Gb of 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM [ DDR : Double Data Rate ; SD : Synchronous Dynamic ]. Unfortunately what seems to be the only negative thing for me is that it comes with two 512 Mb rams which uses both the ram slots in it. Wanted to get the ram to 2 Gb but hav now procrastinated the plan for the memory increase but nonetheless 1 Gb is doin a great job right now for me. The only difference from my previous Hackintosh on desktop was the wireless capability though it has a wireless card. Did all in power to n searched every damn mac forums for the DWL G510 wireless network card drivers but all the effort went to vane. Am not exactly regret the time i wasted to get my wireless card work cuz i learnt a lot about MAC in my hunt. N amazingly MacBook comes with a firewire port which has 400 Mb/sec capability but :( hardly things come with firewire connectivity. I remember the first generation Ipods came with firewire port. ( My cousin Karan had 1st gen ipod long back when ppl just knew about apple with there semi colored translucent monitors) . Well another disappointment which comes with MacBook is it comes with only 64 MB VRAM which is also shared. So hardly there are ne chances of getting high end games to run on this laptop. But overall, i'll rate 4.5 out of 5 to MacBook with my experience till now and keeping in all the prospects from price to configuration. N i just about forgot the best part of this baby, it has around 3 1/2 hours of battery backup which is simply awesome.
Well here's a small video to give show a brief preview of Mac n its awesome processing power with the "Expose" thing which makes things pretty easier using mac.

Windows Vista as you see have tried their wits out to construct a beautiful interface to challenge Mac's environment. But definitely Mac is more than just looks. Its a much more intelligent and a hell lot easier to use compared to windows. So for those people who just buy mac for the looks and the jaw dropping interface, be real n stick to windows until n unless one has prior experience of mac with a hacked macintosh or nething.

Another thing which i learnt from my genius brother Karan ( Not the one who came in the wedding ;) ) , the main thing which windows provide is their capability to run primeval softwares n games to run in the future versions of Windows, so they have to start from scratch with all programming n crap. Like i played a game called Full Throttle ( probably the best game i've ever played, 2D) which came in 1995, n the game is still playable on Xp n even Vista where as Apple people do not take so much pains in starting from the initial things. Softwares of OS X 10.2 ( Panther ) do not work on this MAC OS X 10.4 . Despite of the some detrimental points, Mac definitely stands out but i truly accept Windows is no less and Microsoft quite capable better things in future.

It was a iWeek as well with launch of the most talked about gadgets from the past 6 months. Apple released iPhone this saturday n surely Apple people have a niche of getting stunning looks n innovative features in there products. Well we do not have much luck of having a look at it at present as Steve Jobs has stated iPhone will come in Asia in 2008 OFFICIALLY. Ya mind the word. ;) . People in Germany i've heard are likely to hack the phone n bring it in the international market. HATS OFF TO THESE PEOPLE !! The reviews of iPhone are pretty much ok. Want a reliable source for the review then will post it.

N the happiest thing which has happened so far this week is Liverpool has signed the Spain's Ace Fernanodo Torres for 26 million pounds. :) Liverpool's gonna kick MANUTD's ASS.. !!

N this post really getting stretched but cant resist to pen a few more lines. Am just sick n bored of sitting in shatabdi 7th time in just a month. Just now read a very riveting article which deserved my effort to open my mac n add a few more lines to this gigantic post.
Shakespeare said, " Sleep that knits up the ravelled sleave of care" . But is it really true ? Bcuz there is study to challenge it. ! Its a study that we needn't lose any sleep over bcuz if e did, we are not likely to catch up on our forty winks later. so its better to get good sleep rather to pile it up n leave for later cuz that later wont come.
So sleep tight with all ur might. ;)
