Lackadaisical

Well, the heading sums up the whole week really as there were no classes of ABAP which was the most fucked up thing that cud happen. The few bytes of pleasure am trying to leech out of my life is ABAP right now which came to halt due to no seeders ( teacher) in the network.

I've been reading this .pdf file since long I downloaded on ABAP ( siemens notes) which were really very helpful. Its a mammothing 1500 page pdf which gives an even more chillier shock compared to what am already riding on bcuz of the sliding down temperatures here. Hey did that rhyme ?? Obviously taking a print out of 1500 pages pdf file is one hell of a job (back-to-back), and bcuz of the trait of mine described in the title bar, I just kept on procrastinating the plan of getting a print of the bundle and kept on snailing on the Mac and telling myself that who needs a bloody printout, nothing like a hot cup of tea with Mac in Lap ( hey, did that too ?) with myself just trying to keep my head or to be really honest just my eyes out of the rajai barely to read from the pdf. Then one fine day, when god finally decided to throw some gold snowing down the sun, I gathered all my might to get a print of the pdf file. I went to dad's factory to get it from there and one guy in his office voluntarily wanted this job and gladly I passed on the responsibility saving myself from sticking my neck out.

I came home happily but what worse cud happen , I had no idea. Idiot printed alternate pages which was fine as I wanted back to back, when the time came to print the other alternate set , he kept the pages in wrong position which ended up printing on the same side both times. Damn. Anyways, I still continue to read from the Mac itself. Plan to give another shot on it.

And, Apple seriously know how to make ppl ( like me ) keep on riding the roller coaster. Well if not Apple, people creating third party applications really convince me to buy the ticket for their coaster this time.

Have a look and you'll know..

This pocket guitar is for jailbroken iPhones and is must have for all iPhone owners. This is one of the many which is making me slowly edge towards buying one. It'll happen soon .. !!

Trial Rooms..

The title doesn't really needs any explanation bcuz everyone of has been into one and seen one. I went to sector 17 to look for some stuff in Sale bcuz winters has already packed its bags and ready to cast away. I didn't have any particular thing in mind to buy , just wanted to spend time outside and take a break from the usual immutable routine.

Sector 17 was flooding and when I say flooding, I totally mean the intensity of that word. It was 4 in the eve and people already donned on nice clothes hunting for the same. I went to check some stuff on Benetton and damn I tell you, nothing was there on the racks, most of the things were lying on the tables and people just sorting and trying to find something good as if mankind went back in stone age sorting something usefull from the junk. Luckily I found something reasonable and went to try it. Firstly there were almost 5 people in line for the trial room ( ass holes opened only 1 trial room during Sale ). Then when was 2nd in the line, a guy standing behind me said something which really caught me off guard. When the person ahead of me was about to enter and he was like : " Tussi vi Naal hi chalejaao, Munde hi hein apaan " . And to top that , the person who was going in ( ahead of me) also, " haan haan, aajo aajo, koi gal ni.." He wasn't actually rude but he was serious. I was shocked and amused really with the situation and cudn't actually retort in time with some solid rationale to avoid to what he said, I just told him smilingly , I'll wait. ( N thats what I did, if you have any doubts ) . But really, funny people ..!! And for the shirt I was trying, I didn't buy.

I read something few years back which I wanted to share. Something related to this topic.

There are two kind of mirrors. One obviously the one which we use daily and watch the untidy part of us every morning and the second one which we don't wish to see I guess. Mostly in the interrogation rooms they are used ( Mostly on tv i've seen, don't know if they are used anywhere else ). The ones which have one side as a mirror and from the other side, we can see through like a normal transparent glass. The only way to distinguish between these two mirrors is that, when you touch it with a finger, the image on the mirror if you look closely will be formed at a distance, but on the other mirror ( interrogation one) , image is right where your finger ends due to the reflection coating right next to the surface.
Its sometimes usefull to check these things in a hotel. Remember, in Die another Day Pierce Brosnan notices the mirror behind which hotel ppl are filming him.

So its time you have some bond skills up your sleeve ;)

Slim in in !! MacBook Air shows it Why..

Well Apple does it again. Gives us something to chant about for the coming weeks with a new MacBook Air. I dont think they need to define why is it call Air. Have a look at it and all your qualms regarding the name will be resolved. Bloody hell, so thin.
Apple's super-thin MacBook Air noticeably is an eye catching product but they have bargained on many things for the sake of getting it a skinny look.
Like,

  • 80GB iPod hard drive is being used which means 4200 rpm ( Booooo) . And what ? 80GB only .. Keeping looks apart, I really don't think people are ready to give up the extra space on hard drive for sake of dimensions.
  • It comes with a SINGLE USB port which is something very surprising these days when every kind of gadgets and doohickeys come on USB.
  • Non-replaceable batteries means you have to send your Mac to Apple to replace. ( Poor us who are living in India ) .
  • The worst of all, No Ethernet Port. Fuck no.. That is one thing which will keep the intelligent part of the people living in India from buying it. Every broadband here comes with ethernet cables. And if you retort back on this comment of mine that you are having a wireless connections at home. What if you buy a new wireless router and want to change the settings. You wont be able to ! You might want to have USB adapter for this one ( Oh boy, there goes the one and only USB port.)

Summing it all, I dont really find it a viable option to go with as for now. Certainly a tempting thing but keep your taste buds for something more scrumptious I suggest. Still MacBook's are the best bang-for-bucks.

Ok leaving the MacBook Air banter, the temperatures are going down like hell. I can't even see outside the main gate of my house. The lowest temp is falling 1˚ in chandigarh so here in Parwanoo, it must be below 0 at night.

Its so foggy and yet so beautiful. These pics are from my garden which was looking picturesque.

And well, temperatures is not the only thing which has plummeted right now. Share market has dropped 2000 points in 3 days. Given the Bulls a real run for their money. No wonder my mom gave a break to CNBC and reading some palmistry book.

Coming to football, Liverpool finally got their winning boots on by the goal rout unleashed against Luton on wed. Lets hope they keep riding on this form and perform good against Aston Villa on weekend who are playing tremendously well under Martin Oniel.

Road Trip..

It started on thursday afternoon.

Destination : Mukstar
Distance : 300kms

The drive was as it was suppose to be, Hectic. We had to take the Baddi route to avoid the heavy traffic jams in Pinjore. Going through Ludhiana , we stopped to take a snack at Haveli. And Who the hell says Indians are not modern. Imagine, the only thing available were manchurian and chinese and all continental stuff. No paranthas, no pakoras nothing..
Reached Muktsar slalomingly through all Khabe's and sajje's between farms and shortcuts. Muktsar is obv not a "must visit" place honestly. My par par dada expired last week, so I had to go without any implausible questions. He was the oldest person in the family tree in dad's side and it was really sad moment for our family. I just met him once in my life and that too was 11 yrs back.

Next Stop : Delhi
Distance : 420 kms ( Oh boy.. !! )
We left at 1500 hrs and it wasnt actually a nice road to drive on. Took us 9 whooping hrs drive(with pit stops) to reach delhi and fall on bed.

Then : Vrindavan ( Birth place of Lord Krishna )
Distance 150 kms

The road was awesome ( thank god ) and didnt take that long for us reach there
Woke up in the morning and then had to leave for Vrindavan which took us arnd 2 hrs to reach and again fall on bed. Ehh, cumon I was tired.. !!
There are around 5500 temples ( all of Lord Krishna) in that small area. The most famous is the Baanke laal bihari ka mandir. Saw Krishan ji's Birth place which was very ethnically preserved and maintained. There were no cameras allowed anywhere so, didnt click any photos there.

The next morning it was back to Delhi and had fixed up plans with friends for auto expo. "Mean Machines and Meaner Men" was the heading in the newspaper today which cudnt have been more illustrative. There were some exquisite cars but hey wait a minute, but actually there was something else which was catching eye even more than the nano. These were the models standing right next to the cars. I agree some of the females were really very beautiful, but I keep it till here only. Most of the people were lining up huddling to get a glimpse of the female models displaying the cars. I bet most of them didnt even had interest in the cars. I read in the news paper that some people actually went and asked their phone no.s which I feel is way too cheap.

It was nice trip over all with half of the time I spent driving missing the whole premiership weekend. Things not looking good for Liverpool right now with 4 draws in a row in EPL. They are definitely out of the horse race but they still not doing any good to stand up and be counted as a threat. I really dont want to envision what will happen against Inter Milan in champions League.

Taare Zameen Par, but ehh.. Not in train pls..

Had a nice weekend in delhi. Went on Friday evening to meet Skaran who left this sunday for US. We had definitely a gala time eating mud cake ( I no, again ) and other stuff ( do I need to say all fattening stuff ). Saw rush hour 3 again and enjoyed watching it like it was the first time. Mimicking Chris tucker was awesome. There is no match for the blacks comedy I tell you.

Went to this Akshadhaam mandir which was a great experience. Its the biggest Hindu temple in the world and amazingly crafted decorations on walls and fountains and everything. Saw a 40 min movie of Bhagvan Neelkanth on i-max sized screen ( probably the first in the india according my brother ).

Coming back tired as hell with lack of sleep in the evening in shatabdi went quite unannounced as I was looking forward to have a nice sleep. Obviously in shatabdi you expect decent crowd and well mannered people traveling. But it turned out be a totally new experience. First my seat was taken by an old fellow who asked me to take other seat , I didnt mind that obv. Then the seat I got was with some 10 yr old kid. I thought that was it but there was more in store for me . Damn.. !! There were exactly 5 kids all below 10 and seriously irritating to the hilt. Asked all sorts of ques. Some so small that they even didnt know their age.. Imagine. Some singing twinkle twinkle small( their version) star and one boy who was I think 8 was trying to impress girls who were elder to him. ( A new VINEET DEVGAN in the making definitely :-] ) . These swarm of kids played weird kind of games. Even playing mummy daddy ( oh god ). One cute little girl was asking me all sort of questions , from where I belong and what I do and what she could not understand was which class I'm in. I said I passed collg and she was like , which class was your last. ? And to top that, why you stopped going to school she asked. I was speechless frankly. How in the world one can answer that ! She'll probably realize it when she grows up. Then she wanted to see what was in my laptop bag. Hell no, I really had to parry her questions and involve in other things to take her mind off from the bag and save my dear Mac. Bcuz as it says on the MacBook guide, Mac and you are made for each other ;-)

But honestly despite of the bone cramming situation I was in, I had a nice time chit chatting to little elfin 's and time not exactly flied but it was a nice journey.

P.S.
Whats your take on the Decisions giving by the Umpires in Australia and the Ausie team. Specially Ricky Ponting. He's one son of a bitch !!
